The Fastener Training and Technology Center
offers a unique concept in fastener training. It
was established in the Rockford area through the
combined efforts of local fastener companies.
The goal of the Center is to create an awareness
of the opportunities available in the fastener
industry.
The program, which
began in 1991, is designed to train employees of
fastener companies in the basics of cold
heading, roll threading and header die making.
Also, in conjunction with the machine training,
fastener technology courses are offered in all
areas relating to cold-forming parts. Programs
consist of classroom work along with "hands-on"
machining. Technical classes include expertise
from companies that directly relate to the needs
of industry.
The lab area offers
a wide variety of metal-working machinery. This
includes lathes surface grinders, milling
machine, hone, power saw, drill press, bench
grinders, etc. Our manufacturing area includes
five 2-blow headers, and three roll headers.
